Everyone quotes you year one. We price year three.

Hosting is sold on a discount that expires in twelve months. We calculate the renewal, the add-ons you will be forced to buy and the tax — then rank plans for your use case and show the arithmetic.

How it works

Five questions. Then measurement, not marketing.

Your answers add a 0–20 fit score to each plan; the data score itself does not change. A WooCommerce store and a personal blog do not get the same list — and neither gets a list we were paid to produce.

1

Tell us what you are building

Blog, store, agency, SaaS, domain portfolio. "I'm not sure" is a valid answer — the engine works it out.

2

We price it over 36 months

Renewal, forced extras, tax, and the things your use case needs that the plan leaves out.

3

You see the reasoning

Every score opens into its components and penalties. Every warning says what it cost the plan.

Why Hostlyzer

Six things no other comparison site does.

  • 01

    Real 36-month cost

First term, both renewals, forced add-ons and tax. Cheap plans routinely become the most expensive by year three.

  • 02

    Renewal shock warning

When renewal far exceeds the promo price the plan loses points and the card carries a flag — before you click.

  • 03

    Hidden limit engine

"Unlimited" is matched against the real inode, CPU and entry-process caps buried in the terms.

  • 04

    Honest gaps

A number we could not verify is shown as unknown — never estimated, never filled in to look complete.

  • 05

    Discount authenticity

Every coupon is checked against the renewal price, not the inflated "regular" price. "70% off" is usually much less.

  • 06

    Explainable ranking

Each result says why it fits you, what it lost points for, and what we assumed.

Discount authenticity

"70% off" is usually not 70% off.

We keep every price we have ever recorded. When a host advertises a discount, we measure it against the renewal price the plan actually charges — not an inflated "regular" price.

Questions

Before you trust a ranking.

Do commissions affect the ranking?
No. The score is computed from five components and a capped penalty, none of which reads commission data. Affiliate status can only act as a tie-breaker when two plans are within 1.0 point, both have data confidence above 70 and neither carries a high-severity warning — and when it is used, the card says so.
What is in the "real 36-month cost"?
First-term price at list (coupons excluded), renewals, setup fees, mandatory add-ons, and anything your use case needs that the plan leaves out — email, daily backup, SSL, CDN. Coupons are shown as a second line so nobody can buy a position with a code.
Can a provider pay to be listed?
Providers can pay for a verified profile, the right to reply to reviews and a coupon panel. They cannot pay for a score, a badge, a position, a data-confidence boost or the removal of a warning.
